Mr. Zimmerman is the PR man behind Chicago’s Lyric Opera and the author of “The Gift,” a collection of funny sentimental autobiographical Chicago stories.

Jack Zimmerman has worked as a parking-lot attendant, greenhouse laborer, dock hand, trombonist, college instructor, piano tuner, newspaper columnist, magazine editor, and PR man (at Ravinia before joining the Lyric staff). He also served in the Navy. Throughout his life he has always told stories.

Now let Jack Zimmerman tell you the story of this colorful side of Chicago you’ve never heard before!
